Infrastructure and Equipment

Institute of Vocational Studies makes its courses extremely convenient, attractive and simple by various contemporary classroom and out door equipment, the Institute possesses. There are following important infrastructure that MTA owns:

Class rooms
Institute runs one postgraduate program in tourism named Master of Tourism Administration with two years duration. Each year is further divided in to two semesters of junior and senior classes each. This way IVS has two well-maintained classrooms at the ground floor of our building. Both the rooms are facing towards the hilly terrain of Jutogh Hills maintaining a silent and green environment for strong mental peace and concentration. The MTA semester size is 20 + 10 students (20 the general category including all reserved seats too according to the roaster and 10 seats are reserved for the NRI and NRI sponsored students) and both the rooms have seating capacity of 40 students. This capacity is enough for the present strength but as the popularity of course is increasing every year, if we increase the seats in future we may need either a separate “tourism building” or bigger rooms. Most of the class room portions are looked after by the students which includes latest tourism news, train and air schedules, fares for important destinations, atlas, maps and off course the decoration of the rooms.

Seminar Room
The institute shares a seminar hall with MBA at the first floor of the building, which provides an oval type arrangement for 40 delegates at a time. The seminar room, which normally is used once in a week as per the teaching schedule, is well furnished and maintained providing proper sources of electric connections, screen hangers, mikes and speech dices.

Electricity, Water and Sanitation
Entire institute including the classrooms and seminar room are nicely connected with electric lines, further distributed points for about 06 tube lights in each class room and seminar room and computer accessories.  The institute provides aqua clear water on two floors and each floor has two toilets with basic toiletries for male and female students and one toilet on each floor is made for the teaching and non-teaching staff. Director’s Room
This spacious room exists at the second floor of the same building, next to MTA office. A corner of the same room offers visiting area for the guests and rest of the part covers computerized office. The room is well furnished with wall-to-wall carpet and a show window, displays the achievements of the department.

MTA Office
This is the main hub of the institute where all details of past and present are available as the valuable record of the growth of department. The office is well connected through the EPBX extensions to rest of the university offices, medical center and bank. We have both Computers and a Manual Typewriter.

Faculty Rooms
on the right side of the same corridor, there are rooms for MTA teachers, which are equally comfortable and connected with telephones and computers.

Office of the training & Placement Bureau
The department, even at its very limited resources is assuring 100% placements for its out going students, has a separate training and placement bureau. The office of bureau is just at the entrance, which enables one with a very easy access to the Placement Officer. This room too is connected with telephone and computer.

Library
Institute of Vocational studies has its separate library at the first floor of the building whereas the students are free to have benefits of the main university library too. This library contains about 500 different books on tourism and course related topics.

Computers for students
The Institute offers 4 computers to its students for multiple reasons and has tie ups with other professional software and hardware institutes too.

Communication
Entire Institute is connected with telephones with in the university and anywhere out of the university in the state too.

Email and website
MTA uses email as the most convenient and cost effective tool of communication and with the launching of its web site a new medium of communication is now open.

Visual presentation tools
